Laboratory Testing Methods in Health Care
The graduate is qualified to perform the profession of medical laboratory technician, as well as to continue his studies in the II. degree in the study programme LVMvZ .
After graduation, the graduate can be employed in:
- state medical institutions (hospitals with polyclinics - departments of clinical biochemistry, clinical microbiology, clinical genetics, clinical hematology, clinical immunology, pathology departments),
- state health institutes (laboratory departments - microbiology, hygiene, immunology),
- research institutes with medical or health sciences and research institutes with medical or health sciences departments (departments of laboratory science, hygiene, immunology),
- research institutes with medical or health sciences.
- non-state health institutions (private microbiology, immunology, biochemistry, etc. laboratories),
- research institutes with a focus on: non-infectious mass diseases, environment and health, infectious diseases, occupational environment and health.

The study programme Laboratory Investigation Methods in Health Care requires, in accordance with Section 56 of Act No. 131/2002 on Higher Education Institutions, that the basic condition for admission to the study programme is the acquisition of a complete secondary or complete secondary vocational education.

The admission condition for admission to B.Sc. B.Sc. studies is a high school diploma in the Slovak language.
Additional information
- Applicants graduating in the school year 2022/2023 and earlier will send all necessary attachments with their application.
Applicants graduating in the school year 2023/2024 will submit all necessary attachments except for the 4th grade report card and the high school diploma, which they will submit by the deadline set by the faculty and which will be communicated to the applicant in writing in a timely manner.
Conditions for international students
The conditions of admission of foreigners, foreign students or students who have completed their secondary school studies abroad are the same as the conditions of admission of students who have completed their secondary school studies in the Slovak Republic and are citizens of the Slovak Republic.
Proof of equivalence of education shall be provided by the applicant no later than on the day of enrolment.

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
1. From the assessment of the achievement during secondary education. The overall average from the secondary school from 3.6 to 1.0 is expressed linearly in terms of: average 1.0.... 100 points to 3.6 ... (a) Average in profiling subjects (biology, physics, chemistry) For each profiling subject, possible grades are scored:1.....3 points, 2.....2 points, 3.....1 points. (maximum 36 points) 3. 4. vaccination against Hepatitis "B" confirmed by a doctor - form here
5. the results of the entrance examination will be published on the faculty's website,
6. the candidates who demonstrate the highest level of aptitude for studies, i.e. achieve the highest number of points, will be admitted to the study
7. Applicants who have completed secondary school studies abroad shall submit nostrified documents of education in accordance with Act No. 422/2015 Coll. on the Recognition of Documents of Education and on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications and on Amendments and Additions to Certain Acts.
8. Those applicants who have not passed the matriculation examination from Slovak or Czech language must also pass a test from Slovak language - level B1, which will be prepared by the faculty, as part of the admission procedure. Only applicants who achieve at least 60% success in the Slovak language test may be included in the selection procedure under point 1.
